First, Merry Christmas!

Back in August, during a sale, I was ready to purchase Battlefield 1. I say ready because the beta did not go well for me and I decided to skip the game until a number of patches were released to make the game more enjoyable. So I get the game and installed it and started playing and it ran fine, but the game seemed a bit “off”. I couldn’t really explain it except that it seemed a bit unresponsive and my soldier felt like it was very slow compared to the other players. I knew something was off and that it was my settings, not the game itself, but I couldn’t quite figure it out so I decided to do some digging and found that the default settings in Battlefield 1 are not really optimized for a modern PC. I decided since Christmas was coming and people are buying games at discounts and as gifts, I would post up what I did to make the game run smoother and not be so frustrating on PC.

CoD:WWII PC beta was this weekend on Steam. I was excited for this beta because of the lack of FPS options out there and this was an opportunity for me to look at how CoD has evolved over the years since the last one I played, which was Modern Warfare 2. Yeah, it’s been a long time and though I liked MW2 OK enough, it didn’t keep my interests. The entire iw.NET thing was a disaster on PC with the constant disconnects, freezes, and lag issues brought on by peer-to-peer hosting.

Putting Things in Order

Man, it’s been a while since my last post. The Battlefield 1 beta was a mess and followed the rest of the FPS industry as far as I was concerned. Life got busy and I had other things to work on and do. There is still a lot to talk about and the other day I found that the pictures on this site were blocked.

So I cleaned all that up and put everything back in order and made a few upgrades in the background.  Talks of the next CoD and Battlefield are starting and though I still hold a grudge against Activision/CoD, their next game looks very promising. I’m still a gamer and I can’t stay hateful forever. That’s not healthy.

I will be writing some more soon. We’ll talk a little about BF1 and what is still going wrong, the future of CoD and the next FPS games as well as my continued opinions on gaming 😀

Stay tuned!

I wanted to come back to the idea of “togetherness”, where I left off on the last blog entry and found that it was hard to explain by typing what I meant with adjusted features and limiting some options. Because of that I decided to make the following video instead and actually show you what I mean.

Enjoy the video!

It’s been a while since I posted. A lot has happened. Hardline has fallen off the radar. Battlefront is chugging along. I hear it’s doing rather well, even though I don’t really know anyone that is playing it myself. The biggest thing though is the ramp up of Battlefield 5 coming soon. The last time I recall there was going to be some type of Battlefield released in October. Further evidence that Battlefield 5 is rapidly approaching is the confirmation that Battlefield 4 support has come to an end. Well, no new content. As long as BF4 has been released, it had a very long run. Only took two years to stabilize the game. Two years and another dev team, a CTE system, and a lot of testing and revamping. But I’m not here to talk about the past. No. I’m here to talk about the very near future.

Battlefield Hardline has now been out for just over three months. It was released March 17th, 2015 and was a game that I thought was a bit fun and enjoyable, but was not something I was going to pick up because it did not have that perfect feeling in the beta that I said had to be there for me to purchase. Being burned on the issues with the Frostbite engine three times already, I decided to wait. In that three month time period a patch has been released as well as the first DLC, that is except for on PC due to issues. The game has gone on sale two times that I know of and the last time was at the price point that I said would be reasonable, which is $30. I did not pick it up, however, due to one thing….player count. Read the rest of this entry »

So the beta for Battlefield Hardline has come and gone. A number of days to try out a couple game modes, maps, and see some of the Hardline universe. Many posts and Youtube videos have come and gone all explaining the ins and outs of the beta and the game itself. I suppose it is time for me to post up my thoughts on the beta as well, so here we go.
